Dog training can be a rewarding experience, at least when done correctly. Some think of it as an art form or special talent that only a chosen few can perform well. Knowing the difference between punishment and discipline is crucial to helping to avoid repeating incorrect behavior. Praising the good and refusing to accept anything less is the way of the pack leader. Consistency in your approach to dog training will yield positive results in the shortest time possible. When you truly understand how he or she thinks, you may be amazed at how easy to train and how eager it is to learn. And nothing you do with your dog is more rewarding than that.
Techniques
Many training techniques are out there, not all of them good, and though you can send your pet away to a training school I usually don't recommend this since you really need to learn alongside him or her so you will know how to reinforce the "new" techniques. Also this bonding experience of learning together will only enhance your relationship with your buddy.
