Do dogs really need to wear jewel-encrusted clothes? Yes, they do, if their owners have lost the count of their bank balance. Designers Vivienne Westwood, Ben de Lisi and Jemima Khan’s favourite jeweller, Issa have produced an Autumn-Winter range of luxury dog wear. These designs will be shown at an exclusive canine couture fashion show arranged specially for dogs. The most startling of the event is a jewel-studded dog coat. Designed by Vivienne Westwood, the 2,500 Westwood couture ’spring jacket’ is made from white diamonds and small sapphires. The exlusive and expensive dogwear, including Webster’s collar, will be available to buy on the night of the couture fashion show and will then go on sale in the store’s specialist pet department.
