These are the most recognizable because they are popularly used in Television and movies. They are also known as organ grinder monkeys. There are four different species: White Throated, Black Cap, Cinnamon, and Weeper. Their gestation is 5 ½ months giving birth to only one offspring. They have semi-prehensile tails. They weigh 6-10lbs full grown, are approximately 18” tall and are sexually mature at 6-7 yrs old. Capuchins have a life span of 40yrs.
